Just make new folders, they're cheap...
refile -link foobar +tempfolder
scan 3 +tempfolder
(etc) then rmf it when you're done (make tempfolder a sub-folder of the
current folder if you like).
Sequences have their uses, but attempting to turn them into folders
isn't really appropriate.
