Lo,
On BBC new in the uk there was an item in the news that showed what
looked like an iphone and an App which analysed texts to see if an adult
was trying to text like a teenager.
No mention of what % of the texts it guesses correctly it was broadcast
as if it was a silver bullet for the problem by the BBC.
Poor journalism.

[ Outside of obvious false positive risks, let's say you're a
pedophile and you're concerned about this application upsetting
your targets or their parents. What do you do? Perhaps
carefully experiment by sending text messages to yourself (via
stolen phones, or whatever if you're really paranoid) through the
application -- and home in on the key words, verbal styles, etc.
that trigger warnings from the app -- then avoid those in your
real world textual message communications. Sort of a pedophile
"safe speech" training procedure! Oops.
