This is a community run, not for profit, developer event. Organizers & volunteers are not paid, neither are any of the speakers which are generous enough to dedicate their time to the community.
Even our sponsors are mostly companies pushing for a better nodejs future, and not typical big corporations that normally sponsor events. It's companies I feel proud about. The cost per person is much higher than the ticket price. LXJS price is still about a third of any regular developer conference. I can see a JS conference with what I consider a much worse line up being priced at 1895 USD in SF this month. It's a great value, so for me as an organizer it's pretty hard to understand someone considering this expensive :) All this to say: The ticket is already as cheap we could make it without jeopardizing our own finances. Hope to see you there, :) Nuno Elio Capella wrote: http://lxjs.org -- Job Board: http://jobs.nodejs.org/ Posting guidelines: https://github.com/joyent/node/wiki/Mailing-List-Posting-Guidelines You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "nodejs" group.
