Why don't you guys just create interesting node projects and people will follow you (organically)? Or why don't you just follow the people with good node.js projects that you will use yourselves? AFAIK, that's the way node started (ry created an awesome project and people started following it - correct me if I'm wrong).
As far as I'm concerned, threads like this devalue the node list and make me want to unsubscribe from it (lots of noise, very little signal).
