Hi,

Off late at Review19 <http://review19.com> we've been getting a lot of
traction for our collaborative decision making and project tracking
offerings.

I need to build a tool to mass email all my users (or a filtered set of
users) via an "admin console".

The app already sends emails to individual users (on signup, forgot
password etc.) using the emailjs library and sendmail for SMTP.

What's the best way to send out mass emails? Currently a single instance
hosts my app, database and SMTP.

I'm guessing sending out mass emails on the same instance will impact
performance. What kind of setup do you recommend?

(I understand the need to split up the app and database instances, but we
haven't reached that scaling requirement yet.)

Additionally we'll soon be emailing daily / weekly updates to users in the
form of a cron.

I'm trying to think of the most optimized / efficient setup for both
on-demand and recurring emailing needs.

Any suggestions?

- Sri
