Collecting data in a separate process is 'out of scope', as discussing webAPI.
Seeking comments and feedback:

Data collected often needs to be processed before serving or displaying.

Recent webAPI developments such as navigator.getUserMedia allow data beyond mouse clicks and keyboard input to be collected.
However they currently assume a browser context.

Small portable data gathering devices such as webcams, Raspberry Pi, embedded devices...
may not be capable of running browser, capturing data and serving.
There is a very large range of such data gathering devices.

How might we best separate the data gathering process, so that worker.js or nodeJS can gather and process data independently of the browser?

kind regards
