Hi Ket,
If you just did:
git clone https://github.com/joyent/node.git
The you will have cloned master, which is the branch in which all current
development is done in. v0.11.3-pre is a pre-release of v0.12.0, if you want
v0.6.17, then you'd need to do:
git checkout v0.6.17
However, v0.6.17 is very outdated and no longer actively maintained. You should
try to upgrade to a newer version of Node.js if possible.
