I'm retracting my previous statement. After talking it through some more with Bert, it turns out that he and Isaac agreed to land the patch to avoid further commotion. I can't really reconstruct that from IRC logs but I'll take Bert's word for it. So, it seems that Isaac could have had the good grace to follow up with an email and I could have had the good grace to give him the benefit of the doubt.
