Well, not really. You can write something like this:
```
app.get("/", function(req, res, next) {
req.hello = 'world'
next()
})
app.use(app.router)
app.use(function() {
// this will be executed on every request
console.log(req.hello)
})
```

Anyway... in express 3 app.router is a middleware, just like all others. If you want to pass control to other middleware, you call next() (where next is the last argument of a ternary function).
In your example your router handler never calls "next", so next middleware won't get called.
It's that simple, really.
