I did move back the deadline from the 20th (per the rules) to the 30th and
again to the MLB deadline. As for last year not sure about weather I did or
not (suffer from old mans memory). However I do agree that there seems to be a
problem as since the C.C. Sabathia trade not much happened. My big trade is
for the ALWAYS terrifying Matt Diaz for example!

It is a good idea for those teams that are out of the playoff hunt to trade
players that are of no/little value to them for this year or next season for
player/s or picks next year (maybe even NCR). As in my case I traded for Diaz
just for his card now and will be trading/cutting him next year. In the past I
traded for SP that the team was going to cut after the season and sent him
something that gave him IP now and pick for next year. He was very happy to
trade him and get pick next year. C.C. Sabathia trade netted them 2 prospects
that if they live up to their press clippings will be worth more to OHIO than
his great stats this year.

As for the playoffs email before the season stated the top 4 teams go in each
league with 4 vs 1 and 3 vs 2. Then the 2 league winners go to the W.S.

The deadline for games being in is also the 31st but am sure that there will be
some late (always are). I think the problem this year is that there are so few
that are out of the playoff hunt as their are no longer divisions. Also R.
City manager is MIA and it has been 2 months since we have heard from him and
then was just to say his computer crashed and no emails answered since.
Therefore as commish the league is taking over the team and I will handle any
trade request for that team unless I suddenly hear from him (which is very
doubtful). If there are any doubts about offer will seek thoughts from other
managers (as they are last). This maybe time for the manager that had someone
waiting for a team to contact us both as no reason to wait any longer on R.City.

So Tom I hope this meets all your suggestions as I am going extend the trading
deadline to midnight AUG 6th. After that trades can still be made but those
players cant be used in the playoffs.

ROBERT

P.S. Anyone willing to trade any of the players Tom listed below or anyone
like C.C. Sabathia please contact me yesterday! I have tons of prospects
(mostly all I do have) since I have been rebuilding for 3.5 years.

Robert,Hey thought I would throw this out at you. Since we could use a little
boost in the arm in our league, what about you sending out an email alerting
everyone to the trade deadline and how it's a good idea for contending teams to
set themselves for the playoffs and non-contending teams to build for future.
Even clarify once again how many teams make it into the playoffs? Then set
the trade deadline date(maybe a bit further away) say a day or so right before
you will send the August file out? That way trades have to be in by then and
you can make the adjustments to the league file? I think our league needs a
little shot in the arm? If I remember right we may have pushed the trade
deadline back last year a bit as well? Anyway take this for what you will.
Your the man and I will abide by whatever you think. Just a thought to maybe
get us going a bit. Like how hearing teams dealling for Lee, Haren, and Oswalt
etc kind of gets you going in the real MLB:-) Thanks-TomDM Dragons
