Non Friends,

I've had a good experience with Non the last few days, so I want to make a
couple comments that might be helpful to others:

I had trouble using Non-Daw a couple years ago, and I couldn't get it
installed another time, but I'm of the belief now that it was not packaged
well by my distro both times, and likely the problem wasn't Non-Daw.

Compiling it from git went well. I've done a multi track recording with a
great deal of mixing matching, using it with other apps through jack, and
saving sessions and re-opening them with JackPatch without crashing. It
opens lightning fast, and has never been clunky on the hands.

Below is a note about compiling, but I wanted to make the point that it
works well building it from the git repo compared to my previous
experiences for others thinking about giving it a try.

PS compiling-

I got it to compile quickly with Debian(not the distro I tried it with
before) after a git clone, but I had to install several packages; this is
mostly a function of how few things I build from source, but here's what I
had to add for others trying on Debian/Ubuntu/other deb derivatives:

libsigc++-2.0-dev
liblrdf-dev
libsndfile-dev
liblo-dev
libjack-jackd2-dev
libjpeg8-dev
libcairo2-dev
libxft-dev
libfontconfig1-dev
libx11-dev
g++
