So, if you want to do stereo mixing of mono sources a typical setup would be: A bunch of 1 channel input strips, each containing a Mono Pan or other panning module/plugin all feeding into a master strip (the only thing that defines a master strip in non mixer is the routing, you can call it whatever) with 2 channels of input. For easy connection, try creating all your strips and then right click on the master strip and choose an auto input rule like "*/mains". For more complex setups you can define groups of strips (like putting all "channel" strips in a group called Input). Using the auto connect rules like this is generally easier than connecting things one-by-one unless it's a really complicated routing.
