FWIW Ardour (at least 0.99 to 3.0 versions I've used) can't do this either. You would need to use a delay plugin in to make them match up as J Liles suggested. Personally I never bother, and just record any track sent through outboard gear to disk for later mixdown. If it ends up out of sync I just slide it back in on the timeline. Your use case may be different of course. John
