Non friends,

I've had posts(years ago) about compiling non on the Pi, but for a
year or so when I do this for Debian, while it compiles, it often
segfaults when I try to run non-timeline. John has a note about a
Debian problem in the docs.

However, the non-timeline, non-session-manager and non-mixer .debs in
the kxstudio repository all work fine. The instructions on the
kxstudio website using wget/dpkg work fine for setting up the
repository on the pi(just finish with aptitude/apt-get update).

I'll add I never had a problem with the arch linux install that
downloads the current version from git, so that's at least two distros
non works cherry on.

I'm using the new pi A+ that only has 500mb ram, and it works fine for
a session with several recorded tracks mixing. If you want to use
heavy plugins it can't handle it, but staying away from convolution
reverb etc, I'm able to run modest ladspa and lv2 plugins. While John
isn't the biggest lv2 fan, the session manager remembers the ones your
running, and restores your jack track connections for them. The
point is that the low ram can handle a few plugins,
non-timeline,non-mixer and non-session at the same time, and the
workflow is comfortable.

looking forward to FINALLY using non for a full project,

Will
