*A Song and video: A Unique Prayaas to sensitize youth about ragging *

Continuing its seven year long battle, CURE (www.noragging.com) has done
another first: a song and video on ragging. Being the first organization to
take a stand against ragging, CURE has done several campaigns including
newsletters, slogan stickers, announcing the No Ragging Day and working as a
consultant to the Raghavan Committee of the Govt. of India.

The latest addition, a song and video on ragging, which Mohit Garg (CURE
Co-founder) claims will take the campaign against ragging to a new
dimension. He says "There is absolutely no audio-visual content to sensitize
the youth against ragging. The youth of today do not like to take orders;
all these warnings and threat of punishment do not work. They want to know
'why' they should not indulge in ragging. This is what the video does in a
beautiful and convincing way".

Adds Varun from CURE, "When we showed it to our friends, they said "Now, we
understand why you were working against ragging all this time. Earlier we
thought it was a useless cause".

The USP of the song and video is not only that it is the first of its kind
on ragging, but the lyrics of the song, the composition, singing and the
design of video have all been done by first year students. A four minute
video with a hummable tune, visuals full of youthfulness and hardcore facts
brought tears to the eyes of many who say the first-cut.

The release of the video will be timed with the reopening of colleges across
the country. When asked, how will people get to see the video, Mohit said,
"There are screens in Metro Stations, in McDonalds, cinema theatres and
ofcourse, television. We are approaching all of them and also youth brands
for sponsorship. We have met with positive response everywhere. Principals
of many prominent colleges have shown keen interest in showing the video in
their colleges. And then the internet is there, youtube and viral marketing.
If you can help us reach out, come talk to us please!"

When asked what CURE thinks the video will change, they had a simple answer,
"It will make it fashionable not to rag!".
