Dear friends

You will be pleased to know that the Supreme Court of India has accepted the
Raghavan Committee report and recognized ragging as a human rights
violation. The SC has given directions to operationalize the Raghavan
Committee recommendations. CURE had actively worked with the Raghavan
Committee to get this report out.

This is good news for all of us.... We can just hope that the government
will put genuine efforts in enforcement and CURE shall extend its services
in whatever way it can to make the plan successful.

NDTV had organized a talk show on the same issue, where CURE was represented
by Co-founder, Harsh Agarwal. Harsh did a brilliant job in bringing out the
subtler points of the issue out on the show. Dr. Raghavan also made some
very pertinent points, although surprisingly he thought his own
recommendations will not see operational success!

See video here: http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/video/video
.aspx?id=54924

Keep the drive on... Ragging should be a thing of the past!

Cheers
Varun
