BANGALORE: Is talking ragging? So it seems for a leading fashion
institute here which suspended a few students for allegedly ragging
their juniors during an “interaction”.

According to an official in the institute, faculty members saw seniors
talking to their juniors and marched them immediately to the director’s
office. The official added: “As the institute has zero tolerance to
ragging, they suspended a few of them immediately. This was to send out
a strong message to others that the institute is very serious about
anti-ragging.”

The number of students suspended and duration is not very clear.
According to the official, more than four students were suspended for
five days and they will return to college on Monday. But, a student
under suspension said that 18 students — 10 girls and eight boys — were
suspended.
