I did the fixing, i was able to see the window. but could no get hold of the
function list.
i created and made a index.php to test it it did not work

I've been using notepad++ 3.9 for a while, it's great for me, but I just decided
I won't install it as part of my default windows install for customers anymore
because setting it right for customers is too much of a chore
here are the (small) problems I have with it
Remember the current session for next launch (should be off)
File association for .ini .log .txt (should be associated by default or
notepad++
will not be used, setting them by hand takes too long)
at least there should be a associate everything but .cmd/.bat/.vbs/.html button
fully replace notepad.exe (many programs directly call notepad.. what I'm doing
is I replace the notepad.exe with metapad.exe, I'd rather replace it with
notepad++'s
exe)
no hide Tab bar when inactive
no single document mode (one window per text file)
that's about it, if it weren't for those thing notepad++ would be a drop in
replacement for MS' notepad

Hi! I was wondering if you could create a small function/plugin... I would like
to have the possibility to open sometimes so-called "Notepad++ Lite". I mean
- from time to time I need just to edit one word, letter, and would like to
do it without all the toolbars, menus and so on. Just to have as small and lite
window as windows notepad but with the base engine of notepad++ (reading and
saving files with proper encoding -> iso, utf and so on).
It would be nice if I could somehow make "NotepadLite" run all the .txt files
and all other files with normal, full version...
Would it be possible?

Do you mean HTML Tidy?
Go to Don's download page, the one with the reptile pictures, not the
Sourceforge
page. That's Project | Website | Download when in Sourceforge.
Look for "Text FX detail Information", download any release without "Special",
preferably the latest one. No installer is provided so you'll need to be
familiar
with unzipping files over top your current ones. The HTML Tidy options will
automatically become available.

Hi in Internet Explorer if I click view and source, it opens notepad and the
html tags are a different color from regular text but the minute I save it,
it goes to one color. why is that?

You know, I am happy to see the progression of Notepad++. It is really
starting to come along and for css/html developers, it is must have. I
looked for a long time for a editor that can have split multi editing
with tabs and found here. Then I requested close buttons on the tabs and
docked plug ins, and boom there it is! Here is my request to make a already
fantastic editor even better:
1. Toggable opening and closing of docks.- Preferably on the edge of the dock.
Right now I have to drag the dock to the left and right to open and close it.
(and the keyboard
shortcuts are too involved - 4 keys. ack!)
2. Html/Xhtml guide tag highlighting. The bracket highlighting has been a great
feature for me
in php/javascript development. It does wonders for complicated nested documents.
Why not have
this same functionality for html tags? For example, when I click a <div> tag,
the closing </div>
tag highlights...
This would make my wonderful editor almost perfect.
In the meantime, thanks for all of your work Don and Jenz!

To avoid having to navigate every time, place a shortcut to C:\My Documents
in C:\Documents and settings\<userID>. Give it a name that will make it appear
at the top of the list. Then all you have to do is double click it to get to
the right place each time. It's still a nuisance, but not anywhere near as
much.
