Hi,
I have a computer (WinXp - Home Edition - SP2) that has a card reader "on
board".
Most of the times, there are no cards inserted.
Now, with the latest NotePad++ (version 4), at starting up NP++ always complains
there's no "drive" inserted in those "drives".
This is an annoying thing; I have to click 4 times "Ignore" each time I'm
starting
up NP++.
Plug-in modules active:
- Explorer (most probably, that's the one who's causing this problem)
- Function list
Anyone else experienced the same problem?
Is there a fix for this phenomenon?

* Whenever you change the name for the Windows Explorer context menu, I get
a new entry there! The old entries should be deleted automatically! (Or I have
to uninstall first and then install.)
* The large file warning would be nice.
* The current system with the translation files isn't satisfying. Sometimes,
I wonder why I have different menu item names with the same version on different
computers - I forgot to update the language files. Can't they be included in
the installer package?

No need for a plugin to select in column mode, that's been built-in behaviour
for a long time now: just press [Alt] while selecting text (using either mouse
or cursor keys).

thanks tremendously for the new binary you sent to me per eMail yesterday.
It is now working perfectly in my Windows98-System, no crashes anymore.
If anybody is interested, my installation procedure was:
1. Uninstall version 3.9
2. Install npp.4.0.Installer.exe
( - n o t marking "Don't use %APPDATA%"
- n o t marking Function List Plugin because if you install this plugin
it seems you can't teach the program permanently not to start with it's [in
Win98] functionless additional Window
- n o t marking "as default html-viewer")
3. Replace notepad++.exe 778.240 27.01.07 19:00
by notepad++.exe 778.240 01.02.07 20:03

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shoot the idea when I said "leave the choice to
the user"!
It's just that I thought it would be overkill to write a plug-in for this.
Here's my suggestion:
Make "Run" parameters available for the *second* view as well, similar those
that already exist, see
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/run-HOWTO.php.
For example:
$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH) or $(FULL_CURRENT_PATH:1) for the primary view, and
$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH:2) for the secondary view.
Or even:
$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH) for the current view (the one that has the focus),
$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH:1) for the primary view,
$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH:2) for the secondary view.
And the same for all $(parameters), except of course NPP_DIRECTORY (or allow
that too, but have it return the same value for both...)
That way, any diff tool could be run from Npp++, with (I think) minimal
programming
effort from the team.
If a run command using a parameter for the second view is used, when there is
only one view active, you could:
- either display an error message,
- run the command with the values for the first view instead,
- or show a confirmation prompt: "You're trying to run a command for the second
view, but there is no second view. Would you like to run the command anyway,
using all values from the current view?" [OK] [Cancel]...
Team -- would that be an idea?

Hello,
Here is my wish list in order of prefernce:
1. Add an option to choose the carret style for regular and insert modes, for
example a block cursor for normal mode and horizontal for insert (Like
in ConText).
2. Add a search box to the toolbar and highlight multiple words (like the google
toolbal/ avant browser search bars)
3. switch line orientation RTL and LTR but for selected line only rather than
the entire document Like in MS Word where there are toolbar buttons who do that.
4. Save/import/export of color schemes.
