Is there a way to sort folder explorer in Notepadd++ by name?
The View explorer have 2 parts. Buttom part is for sub folders and files.
The top part is for folders (can it be sorted by name?)

Thanks - I changed to the installer (from Zips), and if you hover over the
%APPDATA%
install option, it says what to do for a USB drive (IIRC '[]Don't use %APPDATA%'
)
- and yes, that solves one problem.

Now, the USB drive runs fine on a clean PC, and it grabs the highlighters and
RUN options, from the USB drive.

I'll use this on all future installs.

Anyone know what the installer does, that the ZIPs do not, wrt this %APPDATA%
usage ?

Only wrinkle left, is the default files in session, are not PC portable, as
they
include the drive, and that can change as the USB moves about..

- so the session file might need to be made smarter to allow for changes in
drive
letter ?

NP++ runs nicely so far under wine. On Ubuntu, I followed the instructions
for installing wine via apt-get. I downloaded the installer and ran it, wine
npp.4.0.1.Installer.exe. Then went into $HOME/.wine/drive_c/Prog*/Note*, and
ran wine notepad++.exe, and woohoo it ran

I noticed a Favorites plugin used in the docking capacity screenshot
(http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/commun/screenshots/scrsh_dockingFeature.png)
posted on the front page. Where can I get this?

love working with Notepad++ and love the new features added in 4.0.

I found out that the problem is with the word wrap feature. The file that was
displaying this behavior has one line that is extremely long. If I split the
line (Ctrl+I) or turn word wrap off, the find works as it should, moving the
screen in order to make the highlighted text visible. This must be a bug, and
is probably not run across very often, but the standard notepad that comes with
Windows does handle the situation properly.

Notepad++ is quickly becoming my favorite editor for code - and the best code
editor I have seen on Windows or Linux. Kate is too bloated, VIM is too cryptic,
Gedit too basic, etc. Please please port NP++?! I would love to have it
integrate
into the Linux DE instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.

I'm interested in this too. I recently switched my laptop over to FC6, and gedit
is close, but I just miss N++

Normaly it is sorted by name. But in some cases, on W2K machines and on browsing
on Linux/UNIX systems, the folder tree is not sorted by name. Next version will
fix this issue. But I need anyone to verificate this!

Best Regards
Jens

Can I display the current page number while editing somewhere in the statusbar?

Can I see the number of pages in the printer menu?

Thanx

Hi!

Does NPP have Problem with long directory names containing spaces?

If NPP (Version 4.0.2) is called with
- one tab is already open,
- a file to be created (which does not exist), and
- the directory with the new file contains spaces,
then NPP produces warning messages "Create new file" for every space-splitted
directory token.

$ cmd.exe
$ cd "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\CRC"
$ "c:\Programme\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" bla1

"Create new file" works fine here, but now:

$ "c:\Programme\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" bla2

Now NPP shows the "Create new file dialog" for

- "c:\und doesn't exist. Create it?"
- "c:\Einstellungen\CRC\bla2 doesn't exist. Create it?"

Bug or what did I do wrong?

Bye,
CRC
