One thing I would like to see if a quick way to hide (and optionally remove)
unprintable characters. I frequently have to deal with corrupted documents that
the owner wants to recover at least the text so they can redo the formatting
and whatnot.

This only works on one file, would be great if it worked on all opened files

Ive used many many windows based IDE's with this, and I hate it...

If they do include this... Please please please set a configuration option so
I can turn it off.

Is there a way to get this to work with 4.1? I love the blue highlighting,
easier
on the eyes, and would like to get this working again. Any ideas?

Is there a way to turn the new feature "URL highlighting" off? In Perl scripts
it detects all sorts of commands as an URL, e.g.

qw(something);

Sometimes nearly all text is underlined. :-(

i took a look at the new notepad++ (v4.1), i noticed a user-controllable buffer
overflow exists in the processing/reading of .rb/ruby files...

POC/demonstrational code:
 http://fakehalo.us/xnotepad++.c

it will spawn calc.exe or crash notepad++ when you attempt to open the file.

You can also record a keystroke macro for that.

First, search for, say, "table id=". Then close the search window and record

<End>
<Enter>
"tbody"
<F3>

where "tbody" represents the individual keystrokes, without the quotes. If
you prefer, you could paste the text from the clipboard and just record <Ctrl-V>
instead.

Play it back as many times as needed.

Regards.

new features are strange, url's get in the way for me (php'ing with alot of
html links, and a sensitive mouse along with no way to turn off the url
underlining),
and the new find function is crashing.

i absolutely love npp, but i think i'll stick with 4.0.2 for now.

one thing that would be nice to see in later versions would be a firefox-style
ctrl-f, something less in the way.

personally i think, that the problem with the url-highlight feature can be
easily
resolved, by changeing the behaviour, to turn this feature only when eg. crtl
i being held in other words:

hold ctrl - links highlighted
else - nothing is highlighted

and this way, the should be only one mouse click to open link

I already exist with ctrl+alt+I

> hold ctrl - links highlighted else - nothing is highlighted
I think it is a verry good idea
Moreover it could be good to do a similar thing for file path
For example when you have ....\myfile.vhd or C:\pathth\fte.ext it build a link
to open file in npp And the same thing if / are used insted of \.
and why not be able to detect myfile.ext when ext is a known file extension,
so when some include are used by a simple click you opened the file, whithout
any selection
