I have some problems when creating copies of opened files.
I open files from one directory.
I select all and copy.
I create a new file.
I paste the selection.
I edit the text.
Now if I want to save, each time the Save File (As) Dialog opens from the opened
files directory.
Why is this? The option "remember last operation directory" is not checked.
I want to save all files to the same destination directory. I think it's a good
thing to separate the open file directory from the save file directory, as it
currently seems not to be. If this would be the case, I (can only) guess that
I could check the options for both directories te be remembered, in my current
situation.

C:\windows\system32\dllcache is a hidden operating system directory. You can
enter it directly into the address bar of Windows Explorer and it will then
appear. I don't know why this is not mentioned, unless the original
instructions
came from a user that keeps system files and directories visible (see below).
I also agree with the recommendation that you do backup the original
notepad.exe.
I suggest renaming C:\Windows\notepad.exe to something like "notepadOrig.exe".
This will allow you to undo your changes if you later change your mind, or if
you just want to use the original Notepad from time to time.
There are ways to make hidden operating system files and directories appear,
by opening the Folder Options dialog (Tools > Folder Options...), selecting
View tab and then checking "Show hidden files" and unchecking "Hide protected
operating system files (Recommended)". If you uncheck the latter, I recommend
that you do so only temporarily. --Joel

Hello!
Who can knows how to make highlighting of syntax for Perl that the built-in
functions and reserved words were highlighted by different color?

I suggest the author to make various highlighting of syntax for reserved words
and for the built-in functions of language Perl. So it is much more convenient,
and similar it is realized in many text editors.
With the help of the user style I managed to make it. But thus it was impossible
to tone some other kinds of highlighting. It is obtained, that it is necessary
to endow either one, or another.

I commend the Notepad++ team for coming out with such a great editor!
There's one favorite feature of mine, however, that's missing: Block
Copy and Paste. Currently, this is the only feature lacking that
forces me to launch vim / Textpad sometimes, so if it could be added
it would be simply terrific.

My questions is related to this, but the opposite ;)
Notepad++ always opens the files, which were opened in the last session. I didnt
found the option to deactivate this ... can anybody give me a tipp?

Hi,
I use a copy of Notepad++ on two computers. On the first, when I use the "find
all in open document" button in the Find dialogue, the results are displayed
in a lower pane of the main screen, below the open document. However, on my
second PC, the results are displayed within the Find dialogue box itself. I
prefer the first behaviour, so how do I change my other copy to do this?
