I currently use BareTail to view a document live.
This supports highlighting of words or phrases..

Is there anyway I can create a set of criteria that when matched will highlight
the correct words or phrases with in the documents ?

Thanks :)

If there is a space in the path it won't work...

it's not a bug - it's a expected behaviour on every system... space is being
treated as a parameter splitter... surround your path with ", and this will work

Hello, I found the hilighted matching braces is super useful!!
However, I really want to ask if the software can hilight the matching html
tag like <head> with </head> as well?

Notepad++ supports a VAST amount of languages and I am absolutely in love with
it!

One thing though that should definitely be included with future versions is
support for JSP . . . it's too common of a language not to include!!

I'm sure many will agree!

It only works for certain languages. It will say something like "Not supported"
otherwise.

There may be an issue with your default browser. I think Notepad++ is just
telling Windows to "open" a web page, without specifying a browser. If a
browser
has been made the default and if there are associations for the HTTP, URL and
other protocols and file extensions, it should work. --Joel

It's in there. Ctrl-F3 or ctrl-alt-right-arrow to search forward, ctrl-shift-F3
or ctrl-alt-left-arrow to search backward. They will automatically highlight
the word at the cursor if no block is marked.

As noted elsewhere: You can remap F3 if you really want to. --Joel

This is the Open Discussion forum. I guess no one wants to discuss it.

For bugs, check the bug report list. If the bug is not there, add a bug
report.

Same for feature requests: use the feature requests list. See the Tracker menu
above.

I haven't tried all forms of commenting/uncommenting, but I think that only
works on a line-by-line basis. The default HTML style doesn't have a "COMMENT
LINE" setting as far as I know. --Joel

> Did you try cmake to build Makefile for MinGW?

I didn't get that far. I couldn't find a clean, complete, stand-alone install
of MinGW; the recommendation was to use an IDE that included it. I was
referring
to remarks for attempts to build older versions of Notepad++.

It sounds like you might be able to do it now. That's great.

However, I'll leave compiling with MinGW to those that have MinGW running on
their box... --Joel

You might try experimenting with setting the global font styles, Patrick.
Someone
remarked in a different thread that setting the indent font allowed him to tweak
the spacing in the normal display of text. Maybe something there affects the
print spacing, the way a smilie image will increase the line spacing in a web
post.

If it works (or doesn't), please let us know so we can answer others who ask.
