ive had notepad++ installed for for a while now and avg must of corrupted
something,
ive tried to do an uninstall/reinstall of notepad++, running from zip, and
disabling
avg. no luck
i did just find a work around
delete program files\notepad++\notepad++.exe
download the 4.1.1 zip file
extract
copy the notepad++.exe from 4.1.1
paste in program files\notepad++\notepad++.exe
also, whats up with nppcm.dll?
cant delete it, but can rename it
regsrv32 /u nppcm.dll does nothing
havent tried my hardest(ie rebooting, safe mode, and stuff like that)
hope this helps

I'd suggest that all NP++ users who get this submit the file to their respective
AV companies for analasys. Either it's a false positive or the download file
has been infected from a 3rd party.
I've been using NP++ for over 12 months and have had no probs like this but
just to check I'll download a fresh copy and see what nod32 makes of it.

I was able to uninstall NotePad++ 4.1.2 and install 4.1.1 My scan with AVG 7.5
pro came up clean on the 4.1.1 binary. So yes it may be.
In order to uninstall I told AVG to repair my file, not sure if that will help.
YMMV lurk.

I've submitted a ticket/inquiry to AVG. It's not a fresh download, it's the
copy we have been using since 4.1.2 was released. This only started with todays
definition updates.

It certainly seems to be in the 4.1.2 version, uninstalling it and installing
4.1.1 scanned cleaned by AVG7.5Pro. But have submitted a note to AVG, so perhaps
they'll check it out.

My earlier post showed the scan of the NP++ installation exe.
I submitted the NP++ executable to the same sit and all seems well apart from
AVG which is throwing a hissy fit.

I strongly feel that AVG is throwing up a false positive. So as far as I'm
concerned
no threat at all. Not that I thought there would be.

This is what I found on notepad++ website:
"False virus detections : if your anti-virus detects the uninstaller of the
Notepad++ is infected, don't panic! It's a false virus detection. It's because
some anti-virus products incorrectly detect certain NSIS components, which is
used by Notepad++ to build installer, as being a virus."
I'm having the same problem. Does anybody knows how to solve this???
