I would like to see (or possibly develop a plug-in or other means to check to
see if there are updates available to NP++ or its plug-ins. I would guess that
a server side list of all components and there version information would need
to be available that the plugin could check against. If anyone has any comments
or suggestions please let me know.
 Thanks DBK

VI is a 'modal' editor which may make it hard to skin NPP as. Still, I would
grab such a plugin in a heartbeat if it existed! I'm a dyed in the wool Unix
VI person. Vim is nice but I love some of the highlighting, indenting,
collapse/expand features I see in NPP. The HEX viewer is great and direct,
simple
entering of extended characters (a battle in Vim). Its a case of each of these
get to 95% of what I want, and the missing 5% is always in the other editor.

Is this plugin installed by default?? It keeps beeping loudly at me and says
something about "can't find HTMLTIDY.CFG" and "using defaults". Then it doesn't
seem to tidy it just adds some html headers etc.

Any clues or is this behaving as it is supposed to??

Use the HTML Tidy tools in the TextFX plug-in. You'll need to setup a
tidycfg.ini
file in the folder {Notepad++}\plugins\NPPTextFX - you can grab a sample one
from here:

Hmm, I was pondering the problem of adding new languages and highlighting rules.
Now I'm not C/C++ programmer but could you make it so you have it read the
settings
from a file (eg highlight-tags.xml)? That way users can help with the defining
of the languages and setups. I'm not sure how easy that is or if it is more
work than it is worth but for a little bit of effort possibly you could save
some in the long run?

Oh and P.S. to the person talking about PHP tags. I'm not sure but think this
only works on the short tags of PHP. No good if you are developing generic
PHP apps as you have to use the long tags for compatibility.

notepad++ should definitively have widget styles for every language, not just
global widget styles. the way it works now is useless if you want a dark
background
with lighter text on some languages, and normal on others. this must be changed!

The plugin is now opensourced, GNU if I did it correctly.
It can be found on the npp-plugins CVS on sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/
a prebuild DLL is on there aswell in the /build/ directory, it should be the
very latest (although as of yet I havent made any changes)

The Global override feature will be in the next release (v4.3), so you can
change
your bg / fg colour on just one click.

It's explained at http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/Multi-ViewHowTo :

"You can arrange them side by side by right-clicking on the separator bar and
selecting one of the rotate options".

The same applies for changing to top and bottom views.

Great! I can finally publish your FTP_sychronize on Notepad++'s download
section.

Just one thing remains :
Could you provide your zipped binary here :
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189927
so that I can link to FTP_sychronize binary download page?

Don

I don't fully understand your question, but you could search for [0-9] to find
a single digit. See http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm for notes
about Notepad++'s regex support.

The expression [0-9_]+ will match something like 100 or 1_000. It gets more
complicated if you also want to avoid matching the 1 in x1.
