Hi
Indeed it could be a good idea. The first simple thinks could be add a replace
in files like the very good find in files tab.
A possibility to select one by one the file on whose applied the replace of
regex could be better again.
Thanks a lot again for your already good program Don

Somebody has already post something with the function list 2.0 beta,
nevertheless
my problem is that I want to put my todo tag into comments so they are
not inteepreted by the function list? Somebody has an idea?
Thanks

What is the current directory when you try this?
-> Choose Open File instead of trying to save.
What is your setting for "Remember last operation directory" in Settings?
What directory is Notepad++ installed in?

I have one remark about opening sessions. If saving a session saves a list of
all opened documents and some properties of them, I would suspect opening such
a session would restore that situation. However, opening a session does _add_
all files to the currently opened files/session. Is this intentional and/or
desired behavior?
In the current situation opening a session and then saving it again could result
in another session file than was saved before. Imagine this to be true when
simply opening a file (being appended to the current document)...

Patch #1747973 File-Edit-View-History Enhancement should be the thing you are
looking for! The patch is already closed but not implemented. It's a major
change
for the old Notepad++ version 4.1.2

Hmm. Highlight word, np++ executes curl web request to do google image search,
np++ displays first image found. Oh wait, you were implying it was too
difficult
;)
I like the looks of NP++; I thought it might have a macro capability (like
UltraEdit)
with some simple arithmetic parsing (which is beyond UltraEdit). It could be
as simple(!) as a plug-in for R (http://www.r-project.org/).
I guess I have to keep looking.
Thanks for the info.
Brent

Look on the Wiki tab, under the "How To" section for "Sort Text".
See: http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/
And please enhance the content with any new knowledge you gain!

In the official release binaries v4.5 the ".session" extension is predefined,
but it's not a default extension - users can change it in the preference
dialog.

I have been working on translating a large document for a webpage in notepad++.
I have chosen UTF-8 under "format" and makefile under "language".
Now I'm affraid I've made a horrible mistake. I'm somewhat new to all this.
Today I saw a webpage that showed a guide on copying from Word to an UTF-8
document,
by saving the word file as a .txt file in UTF-8 format.
WELL.....
I have been copy pasting some of the large text parts into word and then back
to notepad++ after editing the text. I have copied back the text directly from
.doc format.
Today it struck me... will this cause problems? If so, is there ANY way to fix
this?

Yes. User may want to keep all current opened files by opening a session.
To do what you expect, you can open a session on another instance by typing
the following command :
notepad++ -multiInst -nosession mySession.session
Note that the flag -nosession means don't load the previous session (if you
enable the option "Remember the current session for next launch" in Preference
dialog).
> Imagine this to be true when simply opening a file (being appended to the
current document)...
The opened document can't be appended in any way when you open another file.
Otherwise I'll be the first person who refused to use Notepad++ :)
