Hi everyone, I am a longtime Notepad ++ user trying to get ahold of the author.
You see, my company, as well as myself personally use Notepad++ essentially
as our IDE for programming. I'm a sysmin by trade, programming mostly PHP/HTML
not a trained programmer, so Notepad++ suits me far better than environments
like visual studio.
The long and short of the story is that for years now we have been using
Notepad++
to develop everything we write, and I feel like a freeloader. I want to give
back to the project, (donations, yay!) but am also hoping I can coax the author
into a little bit of help with what I am sure if I RTFMed hard enough I could
do myself: create an installer with all the options we like pre-set.
The hope is that if the author can help us with that minor problem, we can
provide
him/her with a reasonable amount of beer money etc. etc.
I am also trying to get information on the author's preferences for "mentions"
in open source projects developped entirely using Notepad++. Three years of
coding at work has given rise to a fairly sophisticated order/process/shipping
tracking system with nifty gizmos like due date/eta estimations, a fully opt-in
compliant mass mailer (for sending out the company newsletter,) intranet, Active
Directory and Live Communications Server integration, with added blue crystals.
It's pretty rough at this point, having been about a dozen different projects
crammed together into one FrankenIntranet, but I am taking the next few months
to refine it, and then I am hoping to release it to sourceforge, (haven't chosen
a liscence yet,) and maybe charge for installs/support/pre-configured VMs if
anyone grows an interest in the project.
But it would be really wrong, I think, to post a project like that without
mentionning in there somewhere Notepad++, without which my feeble programming
skills could not have created that monstrosity.
So, if someone could point out for me how I can get ahold of the individual
who runs this project, (I can't seem to find it on the site, perhaps I am
blind,)
I would be grateful.

I tried the brace trick, but there's still actually a lot more vertical space
between lines than I want. I suspect N++ is adding several pixels of space
between lines. Compared to other editors, it's introducing quite a lot of
vertical
space.
Any chance for an option to control how tightly lines are vertically spaced?

Yes, just go into Settings menu -> Preferences and select the MISC tab. Then
uncheck the "Remember current session for next launch" checkbox. Next time
you open NP++, it won't open previously opened files. Enjoy!
