Greetings to all!
I am doing empirical study about Notepad++.
Could I get monthly bugs reported in the CVS form?
The CVS should have opened, closed, deleted & pending bugs in it.
I have browsed through the Notepad tracker -> bugs, but I can't find
the specific information. Is that possible? If yes, please let me know where
should I find them. Thank you in advance

Well, I have an issue with this functionnality...
When I open a VBScript (extention like ".vbs") npp detects language "VB"...
That's ok, but ...
When I want to save my file, npp REPLACE the .vbs extension by a .vb
Event if I type myself the full name with the extension : test.vbs is REPLACED
by test.vb
So, each time I need to save, I have to
Save in npp and quit
go in explorer to delete old vbs file
rename file.vb in file.vbs
That drives me crazy :o(
I find nowhere the way to say "EXTENSION FOR VB IS VBS NOT VB" >:( in
any menu...
Could I do that in xml files or somewhere else ?

Oups, nevermind
Oh, I've just noticed that I used npp v4.4,
I've downloaded v4.5 and installed it, the pb appears to be resolved
I can now edit my VBS with keeping the extensions... GREAT :oD

To whoever that translated np++ to Norwegian. When you search in np++ a response
dialog window is opened. In the "Find" tab page at the bottom there is a check
box named "Wrap around". In Norwegian the check box is translated to "Marker
bakgrunn" which is wrong! The functionality is that the search is started at
the top when the search has search through the document. Have nothing to do
with "Mark background".

I've also experienced this problem. However i can't remember which files i had
in my sessions, but there may have been an open XML file. i deleted my
session.xml
(in C:\User\<username\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++) and notepad++ opened fine.
Im using version 4.5 on Vista Business.

Thanks, pshute, for the thread link. However, I discovered yesterday that the
info at the bottom of the window includes a count of the nuber of characters
in a selection. That's kind of enough for me, and though I would have preferred
a shortcut, it will do.

Notepad++ is a code editor. It doesn't support projects. I don't think it's
even possible to add support for compilers without project support.
Sure, you could compile a single file into it's binary representation (OBJ or
O file - depending on the compiler), but it is completely impossible to link
those binary files into an executable file.
Your best bet is to use make (or nmake or any other make-like tool).
