Sometimes setting this setting that just can't be satisfying. It's better to
have a menu item (or a button in the "style configurator" window) to open the
config file (eg: stylers.xml) in notepad++ directly.

If I was doing regular edits like that, I would use a batch process. I have
used msub ( http://home.tiscali.dk/8x305617/provide/msub ) for this for years,
but I'm sure there must be others around now.

I don't think it can be done with regex in Notepad++. If you use the advanced
find/replace without regex, you can use control+M to represent newlines in
either
the find or replace string. See
http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/FindReplaceNewlineHowTo for details.
I'm not sure if this solves your problem, but it should at least explain what
can be done.

That doesn't happen for me. The cursor is where it was and the focus is on
the text area. What version are you running, although I don't ever recall
having
a problem with this.

Hi, I was hoping notepad++ has a project view.
If only that is available i could use notepad++ as my web application editor.
Hope it's implemented in the future releases

Thanks

Okay, let me get a "plug in" for my plugin (excuse the pun).

This is one of the reasons I created the SimpleScript plugin, because of
limitations
like this in the macros for Find-Replace operations. It's not exactly what
you're looking for, but it's pretty close.

You can create a script that runs the replace, then once you've typed it in
the Script window, you can use the hot key for "Repeat Last Script" (ALT-SHIFT-R
by default, but you can change it through the Shortcut Mapper) as often as you
need until you change the active script or close Notepad++.

In this case, the script would be just one line:

replace("http://localhost","";)

If you use it all the time, you can add the script to the SimpleScript.ini file.
Then you can just choose it off the list to make it the active script.

There are 2 drawbacks to using SimpleScript to do Find-Replace operations:
First, you have to prepare it first by typing the script or selecting it off
the list, but I've tried to make that as painless as possible. Second, it will
only work on one file at a time, but once the script is loaded, you can keep
opening files and running it on them with the hot key.

The nice thing is that you can string together a bunch of replaces, and there
are a lot of other functions that you can work in as well if you need them.

The plugin is currently in beta because I'm fixing some bugs in the other
functions,
but I've tested the replace function extensively and it works perfectly as far
as I can tell.

You can download SimpleScript here:

Search the forum for "macro", maybe I'm only the second one, but second is still
not equal to first !

;)

It's almost what I'm looking for, but a bit not enought powerfull (hungry am
I !!!)

In facts, I've found that PsPad (another free editor) uses VBScript files as
macro scripting utility, which is exactly what I need. I don't know exactly
how he implemented it, and of course, it can only work on Windows OSes...

But PSPAD is not as good as Notepad++, and so I'll prefer use notepad++ with
vbscript support !

Would It be easy to port VBScript to Notepad++, I wonder !!!

If you would have looked just a little further, before posting a new message,

Wow, that's a good thought. Why didn't you think of that first?

When I say SHOW me, I mean: include a link to the earlier thread(s) which you
had rather replied to than starting a new one.
