The macros in NP are a bit buggy I noted.
Many times macro's doesn't work if I use the shortcut code (the shorcut code
indicated as well in the macro menu).
When I click on the macroname the macro works.
Other times I registred macro's and they were in the macromenu but after
restarting
NP++ they were not in the menu anymore.
So do I have a lot of these things.

All of these are good ideas, assuming it's used like the Windows character map.
And while that's the intended purpose, it can potentially be used in other ways
as well. Since it's configurable, you could set up any number of groups.
Here's an example:
You're working on your novel, and you're currently writing a scene of dialog.
You highlight the word "said" and it gives you options such as "declared",
"replied",
"shouted", and "asked".
Really it's just a way to quickly replace one piece of text with another.
Any ideas for names that take into consideration its potential other uses?

That's a good idea. I've been researching Delphi's support for Unicode and
I hope to eventually have it work with Unicode, but that's going to involve
a substantial rewrite. I think until then, I probably ought to add a warning.

A couple of ideas off the top off my head:
The first thing I suggest you check is if the shortcut key is already assigned
to a different function in the Shortcut Mapper. It's possible to set up
duplicate
shortcut keys, which causes problems similar to what you're experiencing.
Also check to see if your shortcuts.xml is read-only. If it can't write the
macros to the .xml file, that might explain why it loses the settings after
you restart Notepad++.

Yes.I have same problem as the previous. Seem that it only handle up to 258
chrs (as word counted). Is there anyway to extend to limit? Hope to see this
change to unlimited chrs. Btw, notepad++ is very cool although every problem
that I encountered is related to the size limitations (e.g. opening large file,
and etc...)
