In the end a friend wrote a javascript for me to do the replacements.
Still it would be nice if NP++ would support these operators:
\u = next letter upperase
\U = following letters uppercase
\l = next letter lowercase
\L = following letters lowercase
\E = stop case conversion at this point

I?ve tried it with .xml, it opens the xml file but gives an error,
cannot open the (IE)-Site, or so!
Is anything wrong with the regcode, can anyone help?

There's a way to open a separate instance of N++ if you navigate to 'Run' and
'open in another instance'.
Although this option works, I haven't a way to open a new file in a new
instance.
That's one thing that I don't like about N++.

I just tried your regcode and it worked on my Windows XP Pro.
If you revert back to using "xmlfile" for the .xml key, does the error go away
and work.
In this case, if you just want to add an edit for Notepad++, add the following
to the xmlfile key.

I assume you do not need to edit the file but only want to read it.
Otherwise, make a copy, rename it to .txt, edit it, rename it back to .nfo.
