I just tested with network drives.
It doesn't crash if my network drive is disconnected (from explorer) and I had
a file in this drive opened in the previous session.
Could you give more detail of your configuration (ie. did you mount this drive
in Explorer, which os you use on both machine, etc), so that I can reproduce
the bug.

Firstly, many thanks for Notepad++ - I use it every day.
After a hardware problem and an abnormal system halt, some programs I had seemed
to stop working properly so I re-installed them; one of the programs was
Notepad++.
I used the installer version of 4.7.5, but every time I double-clicked on a
text file in Windows Explorer the program crashed. It was okay if I used the
file open dialog or the right-click context menu method - the files opened
correctly.
So I downloaded the zip version of 4.8.1 and ran that, but exactly the same
problem is still occurring. My system is Windows Xp SP1.
I'd be very grateful for any help since my habitual method of opening files
is by double-clicking on them and the constant crashes are driving me crazy!

For the quick fix the toolbar issue, this may help :
In "Global" tab of Prefereces dialog box, , uncheck "Multi-line" for tab
setting.
However, I'll take a look in WINE to see what I can do if I have the time.

It seems that your problem is related with the different ways to manage the
extension between v3.x and v4.x.
Use the zipped version. You can have as many versions as you want.

Hello, could you please help me to disable the following feature:
Every time I open a text from a zip package and I click on a window other than
np++ and after I click back on it, I receive the following message:
"The file C:\documents...\temp... doesn't exist anymore. Keep this file
in editor?"
