Would it be possible to keep some sort of global encoding setting, so that for
example UTF-8 without BOM is used, both for opening and saving, if no explicit
encoding can be detected?
The problem is that I wish to encode everything in UTF-8, but not all my files
actually include characters that exceed ASCII. Therefore, even though I save
them as UTF-8 without BOM, they get reopened as ANSI. And even though I add
UTF-8 characters later on, the always get saved as ANSI (unless I explicitly
change the encoding again).
Thank you for this great piece of software!

[original poster again]
Okay, I'm not really sure how things get saved anymore, and if the encoding
of choice sticks or not. But at least it SAYS that it's ANSI every time I open
a file that contains weird characters and was saved as UTF-8 without BOM.

When invoking the MS colour picker in the Styler Configurator and clicking More
colours, it always starts out with black, no matter what the current colour
is. Would it be possible to display the current colour? It's very hard to adjust
colours if you have to keep your colour values on a separate note. =)
Thanks once again!

> It seems your question is not of any interest to anyone.
With all the respect, what seems to your does not interest me.
I've asked to developers of Notepad++ if this behaviour will be changed. I'm
simply waiting an answer.
I'm not asking to change it at all costs and immediately, so please don't be
unpleasant. Thanks a lot.

Is it possible to create a macro that trims all EOLs in all files, and then
saves all files? Maybe even forcing an encoding in all files? I tried fiddling
around with the macro recorder and stuff, but didn't really get it to work.
I would be so sweet to be able to move completely to N++!

When I select the last part of lines in colum block select mode, with version
4.8.2 also the linebreaks (CR+LF) are removed. This is not what I expect, this
is not what I want.
In previous versions this was still OK.
Could this be corrected, please?

EDIT: I wrote "see" the end-tags. I used wrong word, you could answer: put on
the glasses. I mean: "to find the end-tag". I should like to see clearly where
the div begins, where it ends.

This is the one feature that makes me keep Textpad around
(http://www.textpad.com/)
I know you can select a block of text in Notepad++ but as far as reformatting
a delimited file such as adding line numbers or padding/aligning a particular
field, there is no comparison. In Textpad you select a block of text and then
select "fill block" and you can insert or replace the selection with characters
or numbers, very very nice! Textpad, however, is not a free application. This
functionality would be a great addition to Notepad++.
