I find the HEX button on the toolbar very useful. It seems to have disappeared

Perhaps it is better to start with no plugins at all and move them back one
by one to the right plugin folder.
This doesn't require experiencing the problem until it doesn't happen any
longer,
but works the other way around, which may be faster or at least less
frustrating.

Thanks for your suggestions, everyone.
Greg: your suggestion to use the "Edit: Copy Current Filename to Clipboard"
command works perfectly in the macro - I hadn't seen that function before but
meets my needs perfectly. The macro does include keystrokes to ensure the
cursor
is positioned at the start of the line before insertion.
I like the find/replace option, too, but didn't know how to reference a CR/LF.
Until now.

Are the CVS sources still maintained? I have a few simple things I want to add

But the new version of Notepad++ cannot use Shift-Home to select a rows from
a wrapped line. And using the new shortcut seems got bug, it select the first
line of the wrapped line. Why changed this nice behavior?

You need to install the HexEditor plugin manually.
1. Download the plugin
(https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189927)
2. Copy it to the folder ...\Notepad++\plugins.
3. Restart Notepad

All I want to be able to do is select the text between the cursor position and
the next find. press F3 it finds the next match. But in a macro I want to
delete
the text between these matches. You select down with SHIFT+DOWN, why not have
SHIFT+F3 select to the next match ?

The CVS is read-only but for developers to prevent unauthorised changes :).
The best you can do is provide patches and notify the author of the plugin that
you have a patch,
if the author agrees he can apply the patch (similar to Notepad++). That, or
you have to become a developer yourself, you'd have to ask Jens about that (he's
the admin of the Notepad++ plugins project).
You probably need a sourceforge useraccount, most of the stuff at Npp Plugins
require you to be logged in, including the forums.

Its possible that Explorer in Vista has higher priviliges that Notepad++, thus
preventing Drag and Drop. This probably doesn't occur when you are logged in
as an admin since all processes you start have admin priviliges

I'm use notepad++ some time. And I thank you for your work.
But I very miss one simple feature: when last file closed close application
as well.
Today I just modify sources and it do what I want. I'm very happy.
May be you can integrate this feature in your program?
