I see the option under preferences to enable Auto Completion on Each Input and
you can pick Function Completion OR Word Completion. Is there a way to enable
both? If not, can that be added to a future release?

Current version (4.8.2) still has this problem. There is many related bug
reports
from version 4.2.2 to now, but there was not any response about this.

It does support RTL script. You can change the direction from LTR to RTL by
pressing Ctrl+Alt+R, then you can edit RTL text correctly. Of course, you can
choose Unicode as your encoding. I've noticed that if I type RTL characters
(and probably other non-ASCII characters as well) in UTF-8 without BOM, I get
gibberish; it's necessary to choose UTF-8 first, start typing, then switch to
UTF-8 without BOM. This seems to be a bug.

If you need the dialogs to be RTL, install a translation of a RTL language,
like Arabic, it should have a flag telling Notepad++ to run in RTL

Notepad++ should run fine under Wine, so use that instead, I dont see Notepad++
being converted anytime soon since it uses tons of OS dependent functions

shortcutmapper
under "Scintilla commands". Remap Ctrl-(Shift-)Arrow to something else and you
should be set

I think npp should have an option to define the default encoding for existing
documents.
Because I have to change the encoding (UTF-8 without BOM for me) everytime I
open the documents.

That's the same thing I need when a plugin's menu is to be created dinamically.
I.e. when a plugin reads its menu items from ini-file and you can not foretell
how many menu items it will contain - maybe 1, maybe 10, maybe 100...
In such case NPPM_GETPLUGINCONFIGDIR is a limitation, not an advantage.
Another example: you have some plugin hot-key which is used by the plugin in
several different places. Thus, this hot-key must be defined inside the plugin
to have access to this hot-key from different parts of the plugin. The most
intuitional place to store this hot-key is ini-file. And, again, this hot-key
must be read from the ini-file before getFuncsArray() is called. So
NPPM_GETPLUGINCONFIGDIR is a limitation again.

Hi,
When I updated my old version NPP with new version 4.8.2, my newly installed
G-Data AntiVirus (v 8.0.1) found a Trojan named W32/Trojan2.WCL (Engine A) while
installing (directory: c:\WINDOWS\Temp\nsh5.tmp).
Please check this.
