I have been searching and can't seem to come up with a way to do it, so I wasn't
sure if it was possible or not, but figured I would ask anyways. Is there a
way to do a "global" line count that counts all the lines in all open files?
Or maybe count the lines of all files in a given directory? Any
help/suggestions
would be appreciated, thanks!!

compare is too cumbersome, thats why VS puts it by the gutter.

I have version 4.1.2 and opening files with 32132 lines is doable. I just
generated
a text file with over 36K lines and it still opened it.. so something else is
going on there.

Take a look here, perhaps you'll find something useful:

Perhaps you could use a tool like TextCrawler to count all the beginnings (^)
or ends ($)of lines. I believe you will get a total then.
However, I think this currently would also be possible by the Search/Find in
Files feature(s) of Notepad++. You may now want to have all those lines shown
in the result list, though.

Guess not, but isn't there an option to change the look of the icons?

I believe there have been discussions before about Notepad++ not being (intended
to be) a project handler. Since it is possible to do what you want, I guess
this behavior won't be added. You will have to open and resave you session
manually,
close all documents and open another session. That's also not very hard to do.
By the way, I don't think it's so silly to open a new instance of Notepad++
handling a specific session file instead of the default one, its own. This would
probably also allow double-clicking the desired session file and simply closing
Notepad++ upon finishing your session work. The alternative to closing
Notepad++,
of course, is closing all documents.

This one is kind of trivial, I think.
This one also triggered me to ask you where you would like to have those
stored.
You might want to store that location, too, you see?

I have to agree. There are some wonderful screenshots of Notepad++ with some
schemes I'd like to use. If nothing else, there really should be a button to
reset to default. I'm currently looking at the prospect of uninstall/reinstall
to reset my color scheme which is horribly messed up

I request to change the text "style token found" to "Highlight all" on
the find(find/replace/find in files)window. Of course, the documentation on
the site helps http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/commun/screenshots/scrsh_find
All.gif. however, i feel "Highlight all" would be much obvious as many are used
to the feature in the browser like Firefox.

Russian text is impossible. Some latin letters and digits instead of cyrillic.
What it can be?
