Dear all:
You may have already read my last email which analyzes the reason for the riots
in Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) and the bordered provinces with Tibetan
communities. I must point out that, it is NOT a human right problem but an
anti-secession problem. To support my argument, I present a brief introduction
to the history of China's sovereignty over Tibet in this email.
Tibet became a part of in the Yuan dynasty (the Mongolian Empire). However,
some people argued that during that period of time, Han Chinese and Tibetans
were both conquered and ruled by the Mongolians so that Tibet was a part of
Mongolia rather than a part of China. I don't want to spend too much time on
this issue. My point is, China has obtained the sovereignty over Tibet since
the Qing dynasty without any interruption. And it was the Dalai Lamas and the
Tibetan people themselves proposed to join China to attain the protection and
safety from the Chinese emperors.
In the Qing dynasty, the Chinese empire protected Tibet against rebellions and
the invasions from Dzungar, Nepal and Ladakh. In 1717, the Dzungars invaded
Tibet, deposed and killed a pretender to the position of Dalai Lama. In 1720,
the Chinese emperor, Kangxi, defeated Dzungars and selected the seventh Dalai
Lama for the Tibetans. In 1750, Tibetan factions rebelled. Qianlong, the
Chinese emperor at that time, sent an army to Tibet and defeated the rebels and
installed an administration headed by the Dalai Lama. In 1788, Nepalese invaded
Tibet and expelled the Panchan Lama. Again, Qianlong sent troops to Lhasa and
the Nepalese withdrew. In 1791, Nepalese invaded Tibet again. Chinese army
marched across the Himalaya Mountain and defeated the Nepalese in Kathmandu.
During the whole Qing dynasty, Tibetans were under the protection of Chinese
emperors. The representatives of Chinese emperors, ambans, had formal power
over both the Panchan Lamas and the Dalai Lamas.
After the fall of the Qing dynasty, Tibet was still a part of the Republic of
China. No country in the world admitted the independence of Tibet. Even the
Tibetan government itself had indicated its willingness to accept subordinate
status as a part of China.
In 1951, Tibetan representatives in Beijing signed the Seventeen Point
Agreement which affirms China's sovereignty over Tibet. In the same year, the
PLA entered the Tibet and undertook the national defense tasks.
Based on the above history, it can be seen that Tibet has been a part of China
for more than 300 years (calculated from the Qing dynasty) . This fact cannot
be changed by the Dalai Lama. (Ironically, the Dalai Lamas? power was given by
Chinese emperors). Since China has the sovereignty over Tibet, Chinese citizens
definitely have the right to live and travel in this land. Just like a New
Yorker in California, Chinese citizens from other provinces are not colonists.
I am sincerely regretful that the biased media and the propaganda from the
Tibetan government in exile have misled so many people. I hope this email could
clarify some facts. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further

1 - in the local vars pane make the columns sortable by clicking the column
header. I'm using dbgp to troubleshoot a mediawiki installation and the sheer
volume of variables set in MW is mind boggling, being able to sort the list
via any of the 3 columns would be really helpful
2- add the watch pane to the default set of dbgp tabs that appear when the dbgp
panel loads.
3- panel docking, I use the dbgp panel on the right side vs the bottom. but
each time I open dbgp it starts from the bottom again and I have to redock it
where I think it should be. if it could be sticky somehow that would be great
4 - arrays: when an internal value in an array is set the array itself is not
set to red (indicating a change) -- shouldn't it be? a value inside has
changed.
5 - add a kill button to the controls: sometimes I don't want to allow the
process
to finish, right now I have to let it run thru to completion which means that
I then have to go thru the db and remove any inserted records, same for cookies,
etc. if there is a kill/die button to stop the program execution at the current
step it would be great.
6: sometimes the mouse over showing the var value will not clear when you mouse
off. can't quite figure out the pattern so I cannot offer more info
7: ability to set breakpoints on and off by clicking the the documents gutter
area (where the red ball currently shows up)?
