I appreciate this thread.
I also have AVG 8.0 (the latest) and it detected notepad++ as having a trojan
horse.
I'm tempted to just install notepad++ anyway.

OK, I just installed using the installation from the web site, the
npp.4.9.2.Installer.exe.
No errors yet, though I haven't tried to run notepad+++ from the Programs menu
yet. It opened after the install.
I suspect, but I hope I'm wrong, that there will be the same error next time
I try and open it from the Programs menu.

I love the auto completion feature in Notepad++ it's really nice. Although
I would like an option to make it auto give me options rather than having to
press control space. If you look at Programers Notepad it alows you to set
how many keys until it gives the option. Tell me what you think.

Hello,
I am new to programming, and learining GTK for gui programing,
and notepad++ is my favorite editor. What should I have to do,
for auto_completion for gtk and cairo. The method presented in
website (actually typing alphabetically to *.api) is very cumbersome,
is there any why such that I can specify include directories of
header files (as in visual studio) for auto_completion?
Thanking you,
Dileepa K. V.

Got it. Thanks.
I'm able to reproduce the problem, and I'm sending to Don some source code
modifications to fix it.
Regards.

I saw another thread here about AVG reporting a possible false positive with
a Vundo trojan. I had this issue and it stopped me from running Notepad++ at
all. So I uninstalled and reinstalled version 4.9.2. Trojan issue has gone away.
However, I seem to have lost the function list sidebar. I found this very useful
when editing PHP or Javascript files and I can't figure out how to get it back!
Any ideas?

I'd like to use my N++ for editing my new favorite Mediawiki based site. Has
anyone done this? It doesn't seem like it should be that hard to set it up
so that I don't have to cut and paste my text from the browser editor to the
N++ and back every time. When I set my wiki profile to use external editor
it trys to download an file, but it's a php text file or something with ftp
locations or something in it...

Hi DV,
Thanks for the response. I'm not sure that NppExec will help in this case,
because
the script loads the environent variables before Npp. But maybe there is a way
to load them afterwards? (I'm really not very knowledgeable about this sort
of thing).
I'll send you a copy of this email with the BAT file attached....
Bestg wishes
Idris

Hi,
I develop the phpBB version of Notepad++ over phpbb.com with little modification
that help users who make modifications and even developers.
I'm testing notepad++ in Windows XP Home EN with SP3 and Multilanguage Pack,
Windows 98 SE (on my mom pc) plus Wine 1.0.0 RC4. In all this is working fine
if is compliled with VS8 and I don't install VS9 too. If VS9 is installed there
is a toolbar problem in Preferences.
In Wine if you have Linux in other language and you do not install with the
installer all menus will be traslated by the OS and Settings will not show/work
with vanilla notepad++.
