Thanx for good software!

Smart highlighting is the feature I waiting several years :)
But it works some slow..
Is it possible to make smart highlighting working only with text lines, which
are displayed, not with all text? Looks like IDA works in this way and it's
very fast, because visible areas are small.

I have a shortcut to Notepad++ in Total Commander, which is set to open
notepad++
in which ever directory TC is set to after completing the notepad++ file I
select
save and the notepad++ file is saved to that particular directory.
This works perfectly with version 4.9.2 but after installation of version 5.0RC
the save directory always reverts to c:\Program Files\Notepad++\
I have removed the start in directory from the start-up properties but it always
reverts to c:\Program Files\Notepad++\

Nick

The reason this behaviour was removed is because it would cause a lock on that
particular directory, so user were unable to delete it.
It generated numerous bug reports and forums posts, so instead a directory was
chosen that is guaranteed to exist: the notepad++ directory.

Sorry I didnt see this message.

Simple fix: completely update your stylers.xml. It misses the style settings
for the whitespace symbols. If you want to ertains your old stylers settings,
which I assume is the case here, open the new model file, look for
WidgetStyle name="White space symbol"

and copy it to your stylers.xml (in the correct location ofcourse). Restart
and now they should be orange and configurable.

I'm trying to translate N++ v5, and i was asking myself some things:
- Is incremental search translatable? :)
- Are the tab context menu "read only"..."Current dir path to Clipboard"
translatable?
- Are the small windows that appear after a failed search or a counting
occurrence
translatable?
- Are the box that appear after a search in all opened file translatable?

And, maybe a small vain thought: why not to put a small box in the about window,
with the translators name?Maybe only those of a specific language :P

This all makes sense except for the very last bit? Why would anyone want to
save their files to the NP++ program directory? Surely it should default to
the 'My Documents' folder, which is also guaranteed to exist, and is likely
to be a lot closer to wherever the user actually intends to save the file?

True, thats why I was considering adding that part in, though retrieving the
My Documents folder was codewise harder to do, and didnt think of it.
I'd like to see this customisable, so it takes some effort

Currently there is no way to assign a shortcut to set/clear RO flag. Is it
possible
to have this implemented in the next release? Also a single item rather that
current dual 'set' and 'clear' items in the Edit menu will be more efficient.

It will be even better if you can add 'View in Notepad++' in the context menu.

Cheers //Edo

You can check and uncheck the file's read only buffer in the file tab's menu.

Hi,

I've tried and loved Notepad++! Reported bugs already and plan to submit more
soon as well as suggestions.

I'm a dev and think of myself as an advanced user too but somehow I can't figure
out how to make the regexp in the find dialog work. I'm talking about the native
one i.e. ctrl-f, not the TextFX one ctrl-r. I'm pretty familiar with all sorts
of RegExp implementations and i've tried several common expressions, simple
ones like "function|implements" and it says it doesn't find the text, although
it is there (the TextFX one finds it too)! I've tried the expression with and
without double quotes, enclosed in slashes, with and without options appended
(e.g. /function|implements/i), escaped the regexp chars (i.e. \| instead of
just |) ... nothing works.

I'm sure I'm missing something ... what is it?!?

Cheers

p.s. I so wish there was a nice help file for this beautiful proggy instead
of just a (pretty summarized) online FAQ/Help :(
