In preferences I have checked Format: windows and encodign: utf-8 without BOM.
making a new file from the explorer (Version 1.7.3) creates an ANSI file!

It's ok
Just add <Item MenuEntryName="Macro" MenuItemName="Macro name" />
in the contextMenu.xml file.

NPP 5.0
Hi,
I switched on multiple line tabs, showing (depending on the # of file, ...)
e.g. 4 lines of tabs.
This is a VERY good feature :)) and I would not miss it.
But there is one problem:
==========================
When you switch to a tab in another line in "hard wired (coded)" multiple line
tabs like NPPs "Settings" the whole tab-line is brought to the foreground and
the other one is set to be in the background.
NPP brings the selected file to the foreground and the sorting of the other
ones are changed. This makes it nearly impossible to find another file again
also if you have only 3 tab lines with 15 file shown.
Try to reorder the file: reordering is possible but you NEVER know where you
are.
What I would suggest:
==========================
-- Fix the position of files in one tab line and never change it (except when
the user explicitly changes the order).
-- When a new line is brought to the foreground take the whole line with all
files in it.
-- If possible show a line number at the beginning of each line. So the
orientation
for the user (me) is easier to find a file again.
-- And the last one: Would be great if reordering would be possible.
Thank, margra.

When I save a new (normal text) file with an extension for another language,
the language will be selected. However, the syntax highlighting won't be
updated.
Switching doesn't help. Only after I pressed enter at the top of the document,
did I recognize what I wrote because of the highlighting finally having been
applied.

I have quite a long SQL file, about 30.000 lines.
When I press Ctrl+End it takes several seconds before I get there.
Does this also have something to do with the lexer and highlighting?
I don't recall previous versions being so slow with not that big a file.

The feature is useless or not, it's not you to judge it.
Notepad++ team will decide if we do it or not.

A real nice plugin would be a docked window at the left of the text box there
be a list of user defined and already put in snippet items. And when you drag
it onto the source code where-ever it is dropped the code that the item goes
to is inserted into that particular section. I know it is alot like an existing
plugin but it is better and it is more simple and convienent.

Hi there,
How can I set different sizes for tab characters and indents? I have lots of
source code which contains tabs that are always size 8, but that have an
indentation
of 2. If I specify a tab size of 8 the source displays correctly, but indenting
gives me 8 as well (and I want 2). If I specify a tab size of 2, I get the right
indentation, but the tabs display incorrectly (as 2 spaces). Any way I can fix
this?
Cheers,
Bart

Hi all.
I want to create a syntax highlightning for Makefile and Jamfile.
Unfortunately they have no extension (".jam").
What can I do to make Notepad++ recognise these file types (make highlight
sticky)?
Thanks in advance,
JHaefner
