Yes, I'd got the same message!
The new version of Notepad+ is really infected!
I think, it's a question for developers..

Try the WebEdit plugin (ANSI version only, no Unicode support).

I've tried the plugin on NPP with VISTA and it works well.
Which version of the pugin do you use ?
Are you sure that the problem comes from xml plugin ? (try removing other
plugins
to be sure)

I'm suddenly getting the same 'infected' warning, but for a much earlier version
of the installer (and uninstaller!) - npp.4.8.2.Installer.exe
This is immediately after an update to the AVG virus DB (version: 270.9.0/1774)
I have read elsewhere that the type of compression used in the installer can
fool some virus checkers into thinking it is infected?! Can this be confirmed?
I'm hoping this is a false positive!

That behavior is really annoying. I can change shortcut mapper for volatil
search
and set it to F3. But it doesn't resolve the problem - the majority of editors
uses the same behavior: once ctrl+f3 is pressed while some text is selected
- that text can be searched again using f3 no matter something is selected or
not.
Mb it would be easy to add some option to support both behavior (both Notepadd++
and _default_ one)?

I'm sure it's another false positive alert.
Obviously, only AVG users post their alert here.
Use another anti-virus to scan. Let me know if the other anti-virus program
give Trojan alert.

It looks like it is the installer (uninstall.exe in particular). I have sent
relevant files to AVG for analysis. Hopefully the false positive will quit
showing up sometime soon. If not, I would recommend using a different
installer.
