Have you tried the DocMonitor plugin?
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189927&package_id=231308
It allows you to continuously monitor the output file, so you don't have to
reopen it with a batch file. Check the File Status Auto-detection settings as
well.

YOu may also want to try NppExec, I think it can do that (and more) all
interanally
so you dont even have to manually update. Dont have a manual for it though

Thank you for clearing up the mystery as to why I couldn't change the
"Application
Data\Notepad++\shortcuts.xml file. Using your suggestion I used a different
editor to edit the "Application Data\Notepad++\shortcuts.xml file. But I must
have done something wrong when editing the "Application
Data\Notepad++\shortcuts.xml
file with EditPad Pro as every item but the top one was missing from the "Run"
menu. Hence ended up reinstalling Notepad++ to correct all of the mistakes
I made in the "Run" menu.

If you're comfortable downloading and changing the code for NppAutoIndent, you
can find and change the line:
return LineLabel;
to
return LineOpen;
I've posted a modified version of both the ANSI and Unicode DLLs here:
