Running on a 64bit machine, Vista or XP64, and using more than 2GB RAM results
in file too big error messages. I did this by opening several hundred files
at a time
Also, I wasn't able to open more than 4-500 log files without getting the
following
error message: 'Error creating process: nppcm.dll needs to be in the same
directory
as the Notepad++ executable'. Although this doesn't seem to happen as much
on an 32bit XP machine; I can open over 800 files amounting to over 1GB of
data.
I can, however, open them in smaller batches and then keep opening them until
I get the file too big messages above.
And will you be porting to 64bit any time soon? I wanted to open 20k logfiles
and couldn't because of the above issues.

Hi everybody,
Y have this message:
Win32Exception:
And exception ocurred. Notepad++ Cannot recover and must be shutdown.
The exception details are as follows:
Code: 0xC0000005
Type: Access violation
Exception address: 0x10002E87
When i try to do this:
1- Open a file (php file, generated from notepad++ instead) in notepad++ from
a share resource.
2-The file header contains this:
<?php
/* Comments lines
\n
\n
End of comments lines */
And if I try to insert anything after the <?php and before the /*Comments the
program returns the error described.
I try in another PC (both with windows XPSp3) and get the same error...
What could it be ?

In case anyone's interested, I'm working on a new German ASpell dictionary
(Jens's
spell-check plugin uses ASpell). It's about four times as large as the original
dictionary. It will probably need two more months of work before I can consider
it more or less finished, but it already works reasonably well.

Note that there is no Swiss version yet.

I think it has something to do with the number of files saved in the list. I
used to have 30 files (last year - it's an old problem for me) and had the last
five not load, so I set it to 25.
If I make mine 24 all is OK. If I make it 25, the last one (top of the list)
can't be loaded.
The filename, characters used etc. etc have nothing to do with it.

I was wondering if there were any intention in adding a sidebar which lists
the open files? I love notepad++ but many times I see myself handling many
open files at once, cross-referencing between them all and finding files in
the tab bar could get confusing and slow especially since one has to go and
click on the left/right arrow buttons instead of being able to simply scroll
on that tab bar as in FireFox for example. A simple sidebar which displays
the open files and lets one click on one to give focus to it would be
extremely helpful.
Thanks for the otherwise wonderful program!

I installed the Unicode version update for Notepad++ and then realized one of
the plugins I need (Light Explorer) is not yet compatible with this version.
If I want to use the ANSI version, do I simply need to copy the ANSI
Notepad++.exe
file to my Notepad++ Program Files directory? Are there any other files I need
to copy over (aside from installing the plugins that I need)?
