Like GRC, I researched on how to make menu and do all the effects that JS allows
for, but sticking with CSS. I too succeeded, although with less success than
GRC. I have yet to find anything that *needs* JS on a website that is cannot
be done without it, from a presentation point of view. I even learned how to
make rounded edges without using images or JS.
I'm curious as to what you think might get lost if JS is tossed?

I don't know about U3 anything (I personally don't like it), but there is a
USB friendly version here:
http://portableapps.com/apps/development/notepadpp_portable
That site has many other useful USB friendly applications, and provides
an alternative to U3 for those that like it. Plus it's "a fully open source
and free platform, it works on any portable storage device (USB flash drive,
iPod, memory card, portable hard drive, etc)."

Settings -> Shortcut Mapper...
Not that you can change all of them there. Some of them will be from plug-ins.
Just curious, CTRL+MouseWheel does page zoom for me in most applications and
in Notepad++. What do you want it to do? No clue about ALT+D either.

I am not sure if this is a bug in my opinion.
If you have 7 spaces and press SHIFT+TAB to go back a level, I bet the code
says "remove 4 spaces" rather than "go to previous tab". This is just one reason
why I stick with leaving tabs as tabs instead of spaces, and then this is a
non-issue.

Please do not recommend Microsoft Word to anyone. There is no reason that anyone
this century should be using that. OpenOffice has been a superior replacement
for Microsoft Word and Excel for a number of years now, and it's free.

When using an external lexer and listening for messages (ie NPPN_FILEOPENED,
or even SCN_MODIFIED) how can filtering be done so actions are only taken for
languages that that specific lexer plugin is made to handle?
For example, with our Powershe11 lexer plugin, we need to be able to identify
when a powershell file is first opened or changed; yet NPPM_GETCURRENTLANGTYPE
only reports it as an external, and SCI_GETLEXER reports the language ID number
but neither reveals the language name to match against the languages being
styled
by the plugin, or a way to determine the language ID associated with the lexer
plugins languages. I imagine this is OK when there aren't many external lexers
in use but what about when then are multiple ones?
I've been able to identify a few ways to 'closely' accomplish this, but
something
along the lines of a GETCURRENTLANGNAME and then iterating through the plugins
styled languages would be of great benefit.
