When I log in via FTP_SynchronizeA to my FTP I run into many problems.
This FTP site works fine when using FlashFXP, Filezilla, etc.
Oftentimes when I try to download a file (it happens with basically every file
on my FTP) - some are as small as 10k, it gives me one of a few results
(seemingly
random) - and retrying it over and over does not help and it randomly gives
me one of these results:
* Download Failed
* Download succeeded, but the green status bar goes up an arbitrary amount and
the file only loads around anywhere from 10-90%) of the file and just cuts off.
It seemingly happens no matter what file type (HTML, PHP, etc.).
I have tried changing the settings on the FTP including every combination of:
- Both Active and Passive Connection Mode
- Binary, Ascii, Automatic Transfer Mode
- Timeout set to -blank-, 10, 30, 3000, 30000, 999999999
This problem happens on multiple computers (tried on 5), and on multiple FTP
sites (tried on 3 - all different hosts), so it is not my particular FTP Server
or my particular computer.
Anyone run into this? Anyone know about an alternative way to get this to
always
work?
Thanks,
MatStars

Nope, you hit the nail on the head. Using the GETLEXER to filter message
handling
actions reduced overhead dramatically!

Very useful! I hope you don't mind, but I have added this information to the
wiki at http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/Customise+languages.
(Note for a wiki admin - the page title is not great. It would be better at
'User-defined languages', but I couldn't find a way to move it. Perhaps you
can?)
Cheers
- Mark

Another Sourceforge irritation! It has added a full-stop to the URL, so if
you are looking at this via the web-interface it will link to the wrong place.
The correct URL is:
http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/Customise+languages

Thanks for forwarding the fixed binary.
Tested with our lexer plugin and it works great! Having the ClearDocumentStyle
and new NPPN_WORDSTYLESUPDATED message puts our external lexers scintilla and
notepad code back in line with what will be official!
We are looking forward to having auto updates on again. :D

Mark,
I'm very glad to be able to make a useful contribution to the project. Sorry
about the terminology. I'm new to NPP and was grabbing words that seemed to
be the ones used in the program.
