Is there a chance for a better RegExp engine? The current RegExp engine doesn't
even support alternation.
"(this|that)" should match "this" or "that", but it is not supported.

I was receiving the same error ("Unable to create directory for file C") when
trying to download files from the FTP sync to edit. It seems to be working
properly
now after selecting "Use nondefault cache location if none provided by profile"
and choosing a directory under my user directory in Vista (e.g.,
C:\Users\Tim\Web).
This setting is found under the General tab by clicking the cog in the FTP sync
window. Hope this helps.

Yes I have the same problem. The default style configurator settings for
Fortran
seem to kick in only when there are at least 6 characters (spaces, tabs) at
the start of the line. I guess this faithfully reflects the format of the old
Hollerith punch cards (I learnt Fortran in 1966) but can this setting be
changed?

I was not aware of that. However, one thing that the PA people do is to shrink
the files as well to reduce the footprint on the USB sticks. Unless they've
stopped doing that too?
But, this should not negate that Notepad++ is now portable for all!

See Notepad_plus::notify in the file Notepad_plus.cpp
A tooltip value is passed back as part of the TOOLTIPTEXT structure, passed
as the lparam to the WM_NOTIFY message.
According to the msdn documentation for the TOOLTIPTEXT structure
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa297203(VS.60).aspx) the notification
handler should either:
1) Assign lpszText member to the location of a string buffer, whilst leaving
the hInst member as NULL;
or
2) Populate the hInst member with an appropriate handle, and use the lpszText
buffer to supply an integer string resource identifier;
or
3) Dump the text into the szText member (appropriate if the text is less than
80 chars in length).
However, the notepad++ function ALWAYS populates the hInst member, even when
it is supplying the location of a string buffer to lpszText. It should supply
NULL to the hInst member to conform with the documentation.
ASIDE: the (probable) reason this has no effect on the user experience is that
Windows can probably tell that lpszText is a pointer rather than a string ID,
by checking the value of the high order word (string IDs are 16 bits in length).
See http://win32assembly.online.fr/tut27.html and IS_INTRESOURCE macro.
FURTHER ASIDE: You may wonder how I noticed this bug or why I care, since the
(perceived) problem has no effect on the user whatsoever. I wrote a little
utility
to extract the tooltip text from the toolbar buttons of an application, given
the toolbar handle. On testing with notepad++ I noticed that it did not conform
to the docs.
