At least 2048 chars as that seems to be the limit on Win2K CMD.EXE. It might
be bigger for vista though.
Thanks for quick reply.

Hi all,
I see that Notepad++ supports scheme highlighting, and yet I can't seem to get
it to work. When I select "Scheme" from the Language menu, the only highlighting
that's done is of the braces. Scheme is also missing from the Styler
Configurator
menu, so I can't even define it myself it seems. I tried adding the scm
extention
to the LISP section of the Styler Configurator, but that doesn't seem to work
either. The only thing I can seem to do is to select "LISP" from the Language
menu when workign with Scheme code.
What's going on? Am I doing something wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I chose Notepad++ primarily because
it advertised having Scheme highlighting, and I program mainly in Scheme.

I recently have had 2 notepad++ crashes. After the first one I thought that
I should have taken down the details and reported them. Now that I've had
another
here are the codes.
An exception occured. Notepad++ cannot recover and must be shutdown.
The exception details are as follows:
Code: 0xC0000005
Type: Access Violation
Exception address: 0x10002E87
I'm using notepad++ v5.1 (UNICODE). Which is the latest updatable version it
updates.
I have an HP pavillion zx5000 notebook running an up to date XP professional
service pack 3. The first exception occured last Friday just after I plugged
in a USB keyboard for the first time. I used the keyboard with Windows a little
before using Notepad++. At first I figured the problem is that I added the
keyboard
while the program was up. This morning (Monday) the first time I used notepad++
to edit a file (I had about 10 files open and saved all night) it crashed with
the exception message. I'm going to check my drivers for updates but I thought
I would report this error.

2048 is not a reasonable word length for me.
I will increase 260 * 4 = 1040, so 1039 characters.

I confirm F12 crash due to HexEditor + multi-view.

Sorry for this wrong information.
Compare plugin does not make Notepad++ crash but HexEditor plugin does.
I strongly suggest people to remove HexEditor because of its unstable issue.

In Open Discussion, some people are discussing the F12 key crashing N++. F12
starts the Post-It view mode. Could someone explain to me what Post-It mode
is? I know what a Post-It note is but I can't relate the 3M product with the
view.
BTW, I tried searching the forums for it. Didn't find anything until I used
"postit" instead of "post-it" and then there was no explanation.

1. Can you reproduce it constantly with some file? I.e. do you have a file which
becomes corrupted each time you save it?
2. If so, can you upload such file (original non-corrupted file) somewhere or
send it to me by e-mail?

To: [email protected]
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
Notepad++ is superb. BUT, since 5.x its become a confusing mass of the ansi
version and code VERSUS the unicode ones.
Please, pretty please: separate the sheep from the goats. The main page should
make it VERY clear which version is which and provide a clear and separate
link.
On those separate pages then, should be the links to THOSE ADD-ONS that WORK
for THAT version. At least we are finally rid of "that font". But now we have
multiplied the problems with add-on (in)compatability.
Currently its a mess, and I can't exactly recommend this to someone new who
would struggle with it for days.
Absolute REQUIRED for me: Hex View, Function List, Explorer Lite, Export,
Convert.
Thank you in advance.
