I just installed N++ 5.2 which is indeed better than 5.1.
But I am still missing two things:
1: the last update time stamp of the current file in the status bar. The status
bar displays a lot of data: nb char, line, column, unix/windows, but no last
update time stamp. I think easy to implement.
2: When using search in files it lists a list of files with the matches in each
file. But to open a particular file I have to select its name and then press
Ctrl+O and then paste it into it.
Can the file name made clickable to open it directly ?

Sorry for digging up such an old post... I think this was the most appropriate
thread.
I would love to turn off the wrap feature by default. I also usually work with
very large files . The wrap function is confusing, and since the searches take
quite a while on big files, I am often frustratred that I have to uncheck the
box to do something as simple as a search...
im2crazy4u: it is remembered? Maybe in some earlier version it was, but on the
current version. To be clear about this: I am talking about an unchecked 'Wrap
around'-checkbox in the find-dialog. I want it to be unchecked each time I fire
up notepad++ (the setting is remembered once np++ is open).

I don't think I can say it clearer than I did in my original post. It is not
possible to configure the smart selection color in the Styler Configurator.
My post was a feature request.

What would it take to incorporate or build in a more powerful RegEx engine...
I'm new to Notepad++ and the very first regex search I attempted used the OR
operator ("|") which notepad++ /scintilla doesn't support.. along with ? etc..
Apparently Scintilla can use different engines:
http://www.scintilla.org/ScintillaDoc.html#AlternativeRegEx
What would it take to get a different engine in Notepad++. Something like
http://www.pcre.org/
Notepad++ can't replace my Textpad yet...

More specifially: the user language definition panel shows a "block opening
keyword" and "block closing keyword" frame. The lists of opening nd closing
keywords that appear there are as expected, while the user defined language
name is shown on the dropdown list.
Yet no folding marker is shown when opening any file highlighted for that
language.
Code folding works as expected for languages with built-in support, like C.
Using Notepad++ 5.2.0 Unicode, WinXP SP2 (either Home or Pro).
CChris
