I setup my own custom language with keywords etc. When notepad++ is restarted,
the custom language is lost.
I have 2 wishes for notepad++.
1 - have an additional boundary open
2 - my language defines labels as
eg MYLABEL:
WADAWADA
WADADAADA
RETURN
So basically the folder open expression should have regex ability to define
the folder open eg *:
I like notepad++, best editor out there.

Did you click on Save As in the User Define dialog? After clicking on Save As,
you will get an extn box. You should have entered an extn for your language,
say XYZ.
If you did not do both these steps you must go back and do them.
Your new language will show up on the Language menu at the bottom below the
horizontal line. The name will be the one you specified in Save As. If you
select
your language name it will be applied to the currently open file. You would
not normally do this.
Your language has a file extension, when N++ opens a file it uses the extn to
choose a language, either builtin or user defined. If your extension is XYZ,
then opening a file with extension XYZ will automatically have your langauge
applied to it.

Announcement: an improvement will be available soon.
You might want to _exclude_ space characters as well for any "word" match and
_remove_ any (number of) space characters between the two words and the -
character
itself.
Improvemed Find regular expression:
([^ -\d]+) *- *([^ -\d]+)
Remark: when undo-ing something, the cursor caret will be placed _after_ the
selection on which the change was performed. This is not convenient for undo-ing
replace changes, when wanting to directly execute them again to see the effect.
The match won't be found anymore, because the cursor caret has already "passed"
it.

I confirm Avner's observation. 5.3 is much slower than 5.2 when searching in
files.

name=".*?"
are lazy operators "?" not supported at all?
i tried a repetition workaround which also failed: name=".{0,20}"
both of these regex constructs are extremely basic. without them regex becomes
unusably clumsy. any chance to upgrade to scintilla v1.77 and utilize the new
temp text buffer access for injecting proper regex support?
thanks,
Leon
