Hi, I've been using Notepadd++ for ages and it's such a good code editor.
The only thing is there are a few php/javascript source rendering bugs:
example1:
<script type="text/javascript" charset=<?php $charset ?> >
function demo() {
}
var data = '';
</script>
if there is some php codes within the <script> tag, the following javascript
codes wont get displayed in javascript mode, they will be treated as normal
text and thus totall in black color. This makes programmers a bit hard to read
their codes.
example2:
<script>
<!-- comment goes here -->
var a = '<!-- -->';
</script>
the second "-->" here will be displayed in green color which means notepadd
thinks it's the closing html comment tag however it is not.
there are still a couple of other cases which I can't remember at the moment,
will comment here once I can recall them.
Hope you guys can get this fixed in the next release, thanks :)

comment: source code rendering is quite important, espacially to some
programmers
who are still new, they do believe what the code editor display

Haven't had time to figure out how to implement this change myself. Seems easy
enough for someone versed in this codebase. Can we expect this next release?

Thanks again, I did not tried that before. Ok, so it is up to the user to set
that.

First, This problem happen in both 5.3.1 and 5.4RC.
When I click
Menu->View->user defined dialog...
A dialog will pop up. But as I'm using a 1024*768 screen, the bottom of the
dialog was truncated. I have no idea to see the bottom area.
I also know that the dialog can't be stretched or resized.
As a work abound, I need to click "Dock" to let the dialog dock to the right
side of the frame, then, a vertical scroll bar will appeared.
My suggestion:
Can you enable scroll bar on the dialog, so, if the dialog is too big, then
the user can resize it.(scrollbar will automatically add)
Thanks.

This is definitely not the place to be asking this question as it is extremely
unlikely to have anything to do with N++. The only way it could, is if somehow
Windows Media Player were mapped as an external application to execute - which
would not make any sense as WMP wouldn't know what to do with a text file.
But, in the interests of being friendly, try this:
* Go to the windows start menu.
* Navigate it looking for the Media Player entry.
* Right click on it to bring up the context menu.
* Select Properties from it
* Check the Shortcut key box. If it has anything in it clear it.
* Click OK.
If that's not it, can't help ya. At least not here.

Thanks Chris,
Sorry for my late reply, as I am out of home for some days.
I have tried your suggested methods 1 & 2 but got no luck. First off my
Langs.xml
is just plain ASCII and I did not see any strange code inside it under a hexa
editor. Then I checked with an XML editor and did not find any break bracket.
Finally I copied the langs.xml from my good PC to replace the eroor reported
one, but when I ran NP++ the same error jumped out again. I did compare both
Langs.xml from both PC after this copy & replace, but again they are the same.
Thanks to Nechifor again, I finally found "tlist" command under my WinDbg
directory,
and I did the check as you told, but there is no 2nd copy of NP++ hide inside
my OS task list.
I guess there must be a nasty error inside NP++, but I finally gave it up as
this bug tracing is not too much fun to me. Now I cam using "Notepad++Portable
4.12rv2" instead; it runs pretty good without error complainning so far.
Anyway, still feel very appreciate for you two gentlemen's kind help,
Hunt Chang

Thank you for your compliment.
It's not harmful at all to see there is at least one user in the world who is
graceful :)
